Replacing a rear wiper for a Hyundai Tucson is simple to do if the SUV owner has a little patience. Removing the old wiper blade is easy and putting the new one on only takes a minute. Buying the right replacement blade is a must in order for it to fit properly on the windshield wiper.

  1. Park your Hyundai Tucson in an area that is well-lit so you can remove the rear wiper blade. Go to the back of the SUV and gently pull the wiper off of the rear windshield. Look for the lock on the wiper which will release the blade.
  2. Press and hold the lock with one hand and pull the blade off with the other to remove it from the wiper. Return the wiper to the rear windshield. Take the old blade to an auto supply store to buy a replacement.
  3. Use a different vehicle to drive to the auto supply store if it is raining outside. You do not have a rear wiper blade on your Hyundai, so you cannot use the wiper on the windshield until you replace the blade. If the weather is sunny you can drive the Hyundai to the store.
  4. Ask a sales clerk at the auto supply store to find you the proper replacement blade for your Hyundai. Hand your old blade to the clerk and then compare the size of the new one with the old one before you make the purchase. Keep your receipt in case the blade does not fit properly. If you drove your Hyundai to the store, install the new blade before you leave.

  5. Remove the new wiper blade from the packaging and lift the rear wiper off of the back windshield. Hold the wiper with one hand and push the new blade into it until it locks in place. Start your Hyundai and make sure that the rear wiper works properly before you leave the store. Throw the old wiper blade in the trash once you get home.
