How to Repair PVC Sink Pipe
In order to save on maintenance costs, consider repairing PVC sink pipes yourself. After all, a plumber will charge you several hundred dollars for such a repair. However, you could purchase the supplies for this repair from any home improvement store for less than $20.
How to Repair PVC Sink Pipe:
Step 1: Turn off the main water line.
Step 2: Cut the off the area of PVC pipe that is leaking.
Step 3: Slide the coupling on the new pipe. Attach it to the existing PVC pipe. Apply glue around the inside of the coupling and the PVC pipe. Repeat for both sides.
Step 4: Allow the glue to dry for at least 2 hours. Recheck your PVC pipes for leaks. If no leaks are found, then you are finished. If you find leaks repeat Steps 1-3 for each section of pipe that is leaking.
