How to Remove Concrete From Vinyl Siding

Concrete can get on the vinyl side from many of the projects you tackle around the home. This can make the siding look unattractive and take away from the beauty of the home. It is better to remove the concrete as soon as it gets on the vinyl siding, especially before it hardens.

How to Remove Concrete From Vinyl Siding

Materials Needed

  • Putty knife

  • White distilled vinegar

  • Clean cloths

  • Scrub brush with soft bristles

  • Garden hose

  • White sugar

  • Bowl

  • Plastic scraper

  • Concrete dissolver

  1. Use a putty knife to remove as much of the concrete as possible. Scrape at the concrete until most of it is removed. Avoid damaging the siding with the putty knife.

  2. Apply white distilled vinegar to a cloth and apply it over the concrete. Allow the vinegar to sit on the concrete for 30 minutes. Use a scrub brush with soft bristles to remove the concrete. Rinse the area with a garden hose. Proceed to the next step of the concrete remains.

  3. Add one part white sugar and one part warm water in a bowl. Make sure the mixture is thick enough to adhere to the concrete. Apply the mixture to the siding with a plastic scraper. Allow the mixture to sit for 15 minutes.

  4. Use a scrub brush with soft bristles to go over the area. Try not to use too much pressure so the siding is not damaged. The concrete should be loosed. Use a garden hose to rinse the siding.

  5. Use concrete dissolver if neither of the above steps were able to remove the concrete. The dissolver is safe and will not damage the siding.
