How to Refresh a Car With DIY Aftermarket Parts

Refreshing a car can be as easy as purchasing DIY aftermarket parts, and changing the look and feel of the entire car. There are many changes that are simple, and can create a new car feeling, and boost the performance of the vehicle.

  1. Choose to replace parts on the car that are necessary first. These are the changes such as broken headlights or taillights that can be a hazard on the road if they are not working. Other issues can be a windshield or a blinker. These are all necessary to function safely on the road.

  2. Check all of the function of the car such as the belts, spark plugs and maintenance issues that need to be changed. These are all important to the function of the car, and should be checked on a regular basis. Aftermarket parts for these items can create a significant savings, when chosen over original parts.

  3. Make a list of all necessary items that need to be changed. These are the most important to change.

  4. Enhance the performance of a car with aftermarket exhaust. This can add a bright and shiny appearance to a car, and create a fresh new look in a matter of hours. The prices are generally much cheaper when purchasing them aftermarket versus purchasing the original parts from the dealer.

  5. Change the suspension to improve the way your car drives and feels on the road. This can add a smoother ride that handles better when on the highway. If the car does off-roading such as a Jeep, the suspension can create a better ride on dirt roads and rock as well.

  6. Change the car's interior such as the car's seats, the cover and the carpeting in the vehicle. The colors can be changed, or the same colors can be used to create continuity. These are easy to remove and replace. The entire car can be made over, and can look like a completely different car for a fraction of the price.
