- Involve your family and close friends. Important to the recovery process is having a peer support system. Treatment plans will educate your family members about anything they can do to help your recovery.
- Keep yourself busy. Mental health agencies provide supportive employment programs to help gain meaningful occupation based on preferences and abilities.
- Practice healthy living. Besides seeking help from professionals and family members, it is important to practice healthy habits. By eating a nutritious diet, getting enough sleep, exercising regularly, and taking care of your spirit, you will be able to recover at a steady pace.
