How to Make Wine
Many people enjoy drinking a glass of wine every now and then but few have attempted to make it themselves. Wine can be easily made with simple ingredients, patience and the right method. The step-by-step guide in this article will tell you how to make wine that will be ready to drink in less then a month.
Items Needed
- 3 cans grape juice concentrate
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- Wine yeast
- Gallon jug
- Water
- Rubber band
- Funnel
- Pin
- Balloon
Step 1: Pour the grape juice and 6 cups of water into the gallon jug and mix.
Step 2: Use the funnel to add the sugar to the grape juice and mix it until it is dissolved.
Step 3: Pour 1 cup of warm water into a bowl and submerge the yeast. Add the yeast using the funnel to the gallon jug once it has begun to foam. Put the cap on the jug and shake it to mix the yeast with the other ingredients.
Step 4: Use the pin to poke five to six holes on the top of the balloon. Remove the cap and place the balloon around the rim of the jug. Stretch the rubber band around the bottom of the balloon to hold it in place. Push the tip of the balloon into the jug.
Step 5: Put the jug on a shelf in a warm place and leave it set for two to three weeks. During these two to three weeks you will notice the balloon rise to the outside of the jug. This is due to the fermentation process. The balloon will deflate once the wine has finished fermenting.
Step 6: Remove the wine from the shelf and strain it into a glass bottle with a cork or lid. Let the wine set for two more weeks. The longer the wine sets, the more flavor it will develop.
Step 7: Pour your wine into a glass and enjoy when the two weeks are up.
