How to Install a Propane Heating Stove
Installing a propane heating stove can be quite simple with the proper tools and instructions. Having a propane heating stove helps to keep the cost of energy bills down because it is so efficient. It is an effective way of heating a home.
Things to have on hand:
- Level
- Cardboard
- Heating stove installation kit
- Phillips screwdriver
1. Decide on the exact spot that you will be installing the propane heating stove. It needs to be close to the propane pipe access.
2. Read the manual of the propane heating stove to check for the safety regulations and precautions on distances and other concerns.
3. Cover the floor where you will be working with cardboard to prevent any damage to the surrounding floor area.
4. Shut off the gas supply in the home.
5. Find the gas connection at the bottom of the propane tank.
6. Make sure the connection reaches the area where the outlet to the propane tank is located.
7. Place the propane heating stove in such a way that the vent cap is up against the wall.
8. Install the venting system according to the set of instructions that came with the propane heating stove you chose.
9. Mount the propane heating stove in between the studs located in the wall.
10. Attach the propane heating stove to the wall with your screwdriver and the set of screws that came with the propane heating stove installation kit.
11. Connect the new propane heating stove to the gas line.
12. Plug in the gas connection to the outlet on the propane pipe.
13. Turn the gas back on in the house.
14. Wait several minutes to light the propane heating stove.
15. Light the propane heating stove once you know it is working properly.
