- Find a stud on the wall where you want to hang the metal wall art. Studs are the 2 x 4 pieces of wood that you attach drywall to. To find the stud in your wall, you can simply tap on the wall with your fist until you hear a thud sound. The sound between the studs will sound hollow to you. You can also purchase a stud finder at any home improvement store, if you prefer.
- Hang the metal wall art where you find the studs in the walls. Most studs are placed approximately 2 feet apart. Hopefully, you can find a stud where you want to hang the metal wall art.
- Purchase a dry wall anchor if you cannot find a stud where you want to hang the metal wall art. This will only work with lighter weight metal wall art. If the art you are hanging is very heavy, it will only hang correctly on a stud.
- Purchase nails to hang the metal wall art. You can purchase nails at a hardware store. Make sure the nail goes into the stud. You will know if it doesn’t, as you will not feel any type of pressure when you put the nail in the wall. Move the nail over a few inches until you find a stud.
