How to Find Universities With Library Science Programs

Hundreds of colleges and universities offer degree programs in library science. Finding a university that meets your unique needs and desired specifications is easy. With free and easy to use tools online, you’ll be able to narrow down the extensive list of universities available to you.

1. Make some decisions about the colleges you would be willing to attend. If you have specific area or income limits, make notes of them. Think about what kind of financial aid you need, how large of a university you would like to study at, and what kinds of clubs and activities you’d ideally like to be a part of.

2. Compile a list of preferred universities, if possible. If you have a few in mind already, go to their websites and request information, or plan a tour if you want.

3. Do a college matchmaking search online at the College Board website (and/or similar free educational websites). Click on the “majors and programs” tab, and find library science. Add it to the list, and submit. You will be provided with a list of colleges and universities that feature library science degree programs. You can also narrow down the list by specifying geographical areas, programs, costs and other factors.

4. Look at the profiles of each university individually. Check out their graduation rates, grade requirements and acceptance percentages. These can help you ascertain your odds of getting in, and tell you more about the quality of the schools.

4. Visit the websites (and the schools themselves, if you can) of the universities from the matchmaker results. Before deciding on a specific college, look at several different ones to find the ideal choice for your needs. By doing your research, you will have guaranteed yourself a step up in college success and happiness.
