How to Find Engagement Photographers

When choosing your engagement photographer, it’s important to take your time looking for a professional who understands the importance of this special occasion.  Look up local photographers and decide on a price range you can afford.  Consider different photographers in your area, and hire one based on your preferences and budget.

  1. Set a budget.  Different professional photographers charge a wide range of prices for their services, so decide how much you can afford to spend on your engagement photos before you start looking for a photographer.

  2. Go online to find photographers in your area.  Most photographers have website that showcase their portfolios and rates.  Look over the pictures from different websites to find a photographer that matches your taste and style.  Write down the contact information of each photographer you would consider hiring, so you can call them for specific information.

  3. Contact photographers on your list to learn more information about their services and rates.  Explain how long you would like your engagement photoshoot to last and ask for a price estimate.  Find out what dates they will be available. Write down each photographer’s address so you can visit his studio to meet him and view more of his work.

  4. Compare different photographers.  Go to a few studios in your area to meet photographers in person, and look at their collections of photographs.  Discuss pricing, and talk about the vision you have for your engagement photos.

  5. Choose the best photographer for your needs and budget.  Talk with your significant other about your options, and come to a mutual decision.  Book your photographer as soon as possible and notify him about any changes a few weeks before the appointment.
