How to Estimate the Cost for Sunrooms Patio Enclosures

There are many more benefits to building on a new sunroom patio enclosure other than the obvious extra room and being able to bask in the sunlight without leaving your home. When you add a sunroom to your home, you are also adding to the value of your property. Depending on the one you choose it can prove to be a great investment.

  • Decide what type of patio enclosure you want. If you have the extra money and are very particular about your needs, hiring an architect may be the way to go. The architect will be able to customize the sunroom to fit your desires. If you do not want to spend the money for an architect or you would rather get your ideas from already drawn plans, these are available for purchase. These plans are available from contractors and online on various sites.

  • Get a permit to build your patio enclosure. You can do this by showing your plans to your town's municipal building. They will be able to tell you the cost of a permit for your enclosure. Once you know the price of your permit you will also need to find out how much the supplies and labor will cost.

  • Talk to all your areas contractors. Make sure to check references and get a price comparison from each. Take the cost of labor and add it to the cost of your permit, then take that number and add it to the cost of the supplies. This will give you an estimate of the cost for your sunrooms patio enclosure.
