How To Remove Lint From Black Clothing
Most people have at least one piece of black clothing in their wardrobe that is a staple for various types of events. Whether you have a black pair of pants or that little black dress, lint can sometimes be a bit unbearable, since it is easily noticeable on dark colors. You can restore your black clothing to the original state, without lint.
- Run over your clothing with a lint brush or sticky tape. Make sure to get every part of your clothing and run over it a second time, if you need to. Some lint brushes are designed with removable layers of tape, so you can easily take a layer off when it becomes less effective.
- Wash your clothing with a cup of white vinegar in the washing machine and run your clothes through the dryer, once you are finished washing them. Any leftover lint should be loosened and removed in the dryer.
- Use the back side of a mailing envelope to remove stubborn pieces of lint. These mailing envelopes should be the ones that allow you to peel off the back to get to the sticky label.
- Test your clothing with a scouring pad in an unnoticeable spot, to ensure that it does not damage the material. Once you have confirmed there is no damage, wet the pad and scrub the lint that is stuck to the clothing with this scouring pad.
- Carefully remove the remaining lint with a razor blade. Be careful not to cut yourself or your clothing when using this method. Once you have loosened up the remaining lint, run over the material again with a lint brush or masking tape.
