Retirement does not have to leave you sitting around twiddling your thumbs. There are many exciting hobbies for seniors to get involved doing. Many of these hobbies can get you out and among other seniors, or you have hobbies that you enjoy at home alone or inviting others over to share in with you. Having a hobby can keep your mind occupied and days filled with things to do.

Scrapbooking

Many seniors enjoy being creative through scrapbooking. They look through their old and new pictures of people or things they love and create a scrapbook. Many give their book a new look with designs, colors and writings. There is no right or wrong way to do a scrapbook. It is a great way to enjoy reminiscing on the past with friends and family.

Some seniors enjoy being outside with nature and enjoying the beauty of it. One way to capture unforgettable moments is to take pictures. Some people may invest in buying photography equipment, but many can enjoy using small cameras and having them enlarged by choice.

Gardening is a great way to get out of the home and relax. Many people enjoy planting different types of plants and watching them grow. Seniors can enjoy planting items such as vegetables, flowers, or different types of trees.

Golfing

One of the greatest ways to stay in shape after retirement is take out a hobby that will allow you to get out and exercise. Golfing will allow you to get your walking in as well as upper body exercise. Not only will you get exercise in but you can enjoy golfing with friends and family members. It is a great way to get out and have a little fun doing something you enjoy.
