Health & Safety Rules in Schools

Schools set up health and safety rules in schools to make sure the student body as well as the school officials are kept both safe and healthy while attending school and getting their education or while teaching. Without such rules, the school would not be able to run a safe and healthy environment.

Building Safety Rules

Every school has rules regarding building safety; these rules are put in place to make sure every student and adult are safe while in the building. These rules may include what material can and cannot be used while building the school. Building safety rules do not come from the school itself rather by rules that OSHA puts in place.

Activity Rules

These rules the school puts in place to ensure safety while activities in the building and outside the building are taking place. These rules may include rules on handling equipment the proper way, no fighting, walking in the hallway as well as rules regarding the safety of before and after school including sports that may take place on the schools property.

Health Safety Rules

Health safety rules are put in place to make sure that the school remains healthy and free of Disease. These rules may include the proper way to handle raw meat, the proper way to store reusable foods as well as who may come to school while they are sick.

Event Safety Rules

Since many schools host events during the school year as well as during the summer time, they must make sure that there are rules that have to be followed. These rules may include no alcohol and drugs in or on the school property, as well as what events may or may not take place on the schools property.

Other Health and Safety Rules

These rules may include what to do in the event of a fire, a natural disaster and even rules regarding what to do in the event of an attack by either terrorist or another student. These rules are often practiced and gone over quite often through out the year to get both school officials and student ready in case anything did happen while at school.
