Shop Around

Call as many companies as possible to get quotes. The more companies you call increases your chances of find a great deal on motorcycle insurance.
Talk to the rider or salesperson that sold the motorcycle to you, but be sure to also look through motorcycle magazines, motorcycle web sites and the yellow pages. The insurance they suggest may not be the best policy for your specific needs.
Do not Over Insure
Keep in mind, if something happens to your bike, you will only receive the market value of your machine. Be sure to carry the state minimum for motorcycles. Do not insure your bike for $20,000 if the bike is only worth $10,000.
Be Honest
If the need arises to file a claim and you have given false information when obtaining coverage from a motorcycle insurance company, they will not process your claim and will drop your coverage.
If you have an accident, you will get the same value for your bike regardless of what company you choose.
