About Breast Cancer Treatment Planning
Breast cancer usually occurs when the gland cells, which are located in the tissue, have genetic mutations. These mutations will make the cells form and grow in a way that they are not supposed to. Breast cancer can be life threatening, especially if it is found too late.
Diagnosis and planning: Every case of breast cancer is different. Treatment is extremely important; it needs to be done correctly. The doctor is going to find out what type of breast cancer that the patient has and treat the finding accordingly.
Types of treatments: All of the cancer cells need to be taken out or destroyed entirely. Surgery is one of the most common forms of breast cancer treatment. Other forms of treatment are hormonal therapy, targeted therapy, radiation and chemotherapy.
Cancer cell variety and planning: There is a huge selection of cells that can occur at the tumor. The DNA in these cells is going to change over time; this is called mutating. Over time, the cells in the tumor will develop different characteristics and become resistant to some of the forms of breast cancer treatment. The changes in the cells are going to be different for every patient. Before the treatment has started, the doctor will do a biopsy and take a look at your cells. The doctor can make sure that the cancerous tissue has not spread. If it is not spreading, surgery may be the best option. If the cancerous tissue has been spreading, the other types of treatment, such as radiation, hormonal therapy and chemotherapy will be better.
