Visit the world’s best preserved meteorite impact site just minutes from Interstate 40 in Northern Arizona near Winslow. Meteor Crater is the breath-taking result of a collision between a piece of an asteroid traveling at 26,000 miles per hour and planet Earth approximately 50,000 years ago.

Winslow sits on the western border of Navajo County in the high plateau country of northeastern Arizona and the community lies in the Little Colorado River Valley. Winslow was Founded: 1882; Incorporated: 1900; with Elevation: 4,880. In 2008 there were 5,428 males and 4,439 females living in Winslow with a median age of 30.6.
