About Magnolia, AR
The Columbia County city of Magnolia, AR is located 225 miles east of the Dallas-Ft. Worth metro area and 135 miles south of Little Rock. Before oil was discovered in the Magnolia Oil Fields in 1938, Magnolia was an agricultural community whose economy relied mostly on cotton farming. Today, Magnolia is highly industrialized and the home of Albemarle Corporation's Bromine Products Division , Sapa's extruded aluminum products facility, and the home of the coporate office of Amfuel, the largest producer of fuel cells for the U.S. military. In May, Magnolia holds its annual Magnolia Blossom Festival and World Championship Steak Cookoff featuring the World's Largest Charcoal Grill. As of the 2006 Census, the population of Magnolia, AR was 10,478.
