al Amir Restaurant

This place is fantastic. The setting is awesome, you don't feel like you're in Columbia, SC...the mood of being in the busy real life totally escapes you. The food is fabulous and the service is GREAT! Anything on the menu is sure to please, although I do love the falafel's!

Amazing food!! I would highly recommend the Damascus bread (baked in a brick oven) and a dip/spread for an appetizer and the Al-Amir salad to start your meal there. I would recommend AN entree, however, I would do Al-Amir no justice by only recommending one item.

Excellent value for money, polite and friendly service.

We were in the mood for a brick oven pizza, but the wait at Za's next door was 45 minutes; so we tried Al-Amir. Outdoor seating is available, as well as indoor seating with large booths The smell near the kitchen is fantastic; however the dining room smelled a bit musty, and the atmosphere was not very romantic. The booths are so large that you feel far away from your date when sitting on opposite ends. I tried their Lebanese Brick Oven Pizza; which was very good, but I wish I would have tried somethng new. Our waitress was very attentive and quick; I would recommend this place to someone looking for a new and different experience.
