Black Ant Control Fort Worth, Texas

Hello again from A.N.T.T.S = A North Texas Termite Specialist. Once again spring is here and so are the pest. This year the biggest problem has been with black ants (Argentine Ants). The little ants that end up on your counter and the same ones you spend lots of money on trying to control yourself. I can tell you that these ant are not easy even for pest control professionals. They seem to have built up immunity to most baits we have used in the past. Now it seems as though the only way to truly get rid of them is with a combo of baits and residule pest control sprays. We have found a great solution that has been working well lately ! It is of course not something the average homeowner can purchase but is really safe if used properly. We also use a additive that makes insects more suseptible to pest control products. This additive is new this year and has been working great on the little black ants. The only thing you can do to help control these ants on your own is don't make it any easier to get in by leaving foliage touching the home or leaving crumbs, sugar or geese on counters. If you do this little part we can do the rest. If you need help to identify a pest you can email us at antts99@gmail.com or call 817-366-3130 or visit us at www.antts.biz

Common practices for the prevention of termite infestation!

By: A.N.T.T.S

Subterranean termites feed exclusively on wood materials and have strict moisture requirements. With these characteristics in mind, a lot can be done to prevent an infestation by eliminating the food and moisture resources in their environment. Listed below are a few practical ways to prevent termite infestation by modifying their habitat.

  • Repair structural and plumbing leaks.
  • Pull all mulch and landscaping back at least 6 inches from the foundation.
  • Remove piles of trash and debris from around the home.
  • Keep firewood stacked away from the structure.
  • Make sure downspouts are long enough to direct water away from the foundation.
  • Keep gutters clean.
  • Avoid direct wood to ground contact when building porches or decks.

Dallas / Fort Worth pest control tips for summer flea control.

Hello from A.N.T.T.S = A North Texas Termite Specialist ANTTS.BIZ . Summer flea season is here and people are itching for a cure. Many people try to get rid of these blood suckers on their own but have a hard time doing so. The reason for this is that the Dog Flea & Cat Flea the two most common breeds of these pest have a 4 stage life cycle which makes it tough for store bought products to last long enough to work. You need a residual pesticide with a growth regulator additive to last through the egg, larva, pupa and adult stages of the flea. The biggest thing you can do to help get rid of these pest is vaccum real well and often and keep grass cut low. If the problem gets to severe and you call out a pest control company you need to prep the home by washing the floors, and getting shoes and toys off the floor. When we treat a home for fleas we spray all the floors from one end of the home to the other. We also do a crack and crevice treatment throughout the home including furniture. You can expect to be evicted from your home for at least 2 hours so you might need to take your family to dinner or a movie. It takes a good 21 days for the flea prolem to go away so you have to be patient because sometimes it will seem like they are gone after the first week then they come back, well this is because we killed the adults and the other stages have developed and will soon be effected by the long residual product that we treated with. So if you go on vacation and come back and you get swarmed with flea bites its not that they missed you it's that they need your blood and are thirsty for it. This is a sure sign of a heavy infestation and you may need to call a professional pest control company.

I didn't know what to expect on their first visit, but I was seemly surprised. They got there on time and it didn't take long. I thought my hole day would go by, but it didn't and I was extermly impressed with how good a job did.
