Venice is our favorite restaurant. We

Venice is our favorite restaurant. We feel like royalty and the food is fantastic. The new additions in the menu are delicious, the mediterranean salad and the new pasta forno are to die for. Service is friendly and professional. The manager is always nice to us offering us complimentary desserts and lemoncello.

Exellent service is what we like the most at Venice. Leo is our favorite waiter. The food is always exceptional, presented beautifully and served by a wait staff that is clearly happy to be participating in the experience. We are always treated as a vip. Moderstely priced options with a very good selections of meat and fish make Venice our favorite restaurant in town. We always choose a $36 bottle of wine that is truly fantastic (SUPERTUSCAN WINE).

Expensive, Average Food and Pushy Service

I don't understand this restaurant. We went on a Friday and it was packed. The food was bland and the service was pushy.

When I tried to order a bottle of wine, our waiter told me I made a terrible choice, and told me in front of everyone that I must spend at least $40 to get a good bottle of wine. I ordered something else, but was really annoyed by him arguing with me in front of our guests.

I ordered the gorgonzola salad, which was bland with a watery cream dressing. My wife and I both love anchovies, but her Caesar salad was surprisingly fishy, not in a good way, and again, bland.

For entrees, I got the gnocci and veal special. The veal was ok, and the gnocci was, well, bland. And there was a lot of it, again, not in a good way. My wife got an average fish special that made us long for Bonefish Grill.

We presented a gift certificate that covered the meal and the tip, but the server wouldn't apply any of the gift certificate to the tip, so we had to wait again for the waiter to run us a credit for $5 (which doesn't buy anything at this place), and I had to pay the tip all in cash. The waiter said, without apologies, that he doesn't make the rules (and demonstrated that he doesn't give a rat's @$$ about them as long as he can upsell).

All in all, dinner for two cost $115. If you're going to drop a hundred on dinner for two, go some place with great food like Opus in Littleton, or with solid food at a good value, like Bonefish. If we had spent $100 at Duo in Highlands, I would have been amazed by the food and the service, rather than writing this annoying review.

If it had cost $50, I would have rated it a three. But it cost $115, so it gets a two. I might give the gift certificate to a homeless person so he can find another investor and split a desert.
