Three Oaks Guest Inn
About Three Oaks Guest Inn
Welcome to beautiful Valley City, North Dakota, 'City of Bridges' and Gateway to the Sheyenne River Valley National Scenic Byway.
We hope you choose to stay with us during your visit!
Three Oaks Guest Inn was built in 1915. It is a cozy home that stil...l has all its original oak woodwork, columns, built-ins & open stairway. Choose from 3 comfortable bedrooms or a foldout couch on the three season porch.
The nicely decorated dining and living rooms, and fully furnished, modernized kitchen, make it perfect for either large or small groups...quiet family vacations, small meetings, bridal and baby showers, graduation receptions, birthday parties, girlfriend/scrap-booking/quilting getaways, family reunions, vacation rental, or any other sort of friendly get-togethers . Three Oaks Guest Inn is a true 'home-away-from-home'.
A second stairway goes from the backyard to the basement, where there is an extra kitchen sink, lots of counter space, a large freezer, and laundry facilities. This makes it ideal for hunters.
There is a huge lot for outdoor activities, and several flowerbeds to check out.
Relax on the bank of the Sheyenne River and watch the birds, animals, and turtles or light up the fire pit for a memorable evening.
The house has cable TV, wireless internet, and central air, but is not wheelchair accessible.
We are 1 block from the Valley City campground if some in your party prefer to stay in their own camper.
Rent the main floor for a few hours for a meeting or to celebrate a special occasion, or rent the whole house for a night or a more. Weekly and monthly rates are available for extended stays and vacation rental.

Home Away From Home
I stay at Three Oaks every time I;m back in North Dakota. It is truly a home away from home- a beautifully restored house to accommodate travelers who wish to avoid the generic appearance of hotels, and their noise. Love this place!
Great place
What a lovely old home and pleasant place to stay! Warm, cozy, decorated beautifully and so comfortable! It is a quiet area and we could make ourselves at home here.
A Home Away From Home
My family stayed here for my wedding. We had a very peaceful and pleasureable stay. Kara is a great hostess & made us feel at home from our first day there. I will definately stay here again when I am in the area. My parents especially liked the 1915 house - it really is a 'Home Away From Home'. Thank you!
Cute and cozy little house
Our group of 6 ladies stayed overnight here and had a wonderful time. The house is small, but very cozy. The bedrooms are furnished nicely and we were all able to have our own seperate sleeping arrangements. Loved the antique furnishings thoughout the home. We were ...able to chat freely into the wee hours of the night, as were were the only ones there. The location was convenient and Kara had suggested places of interest for us to visit. I would recommend this guest inn to others. The kitchen was adequate with a coffee maker (and coffee), toaster, microwave, fridge (with ice maker), waffle iron and all of the pots and pans, glassware we needed. I feel we received a bargain for our money!
Charm and Comfort
Three Oaks is a beautifully decorated older home that flows with charm and character. The woodwork is beautiful and the beds are ohhh so comfortable! John and Kara are great hosts! We throughly enjoyed our stay!
