The Shack

The food is quite good, although it is pricey. The town of Centerport is one of the nicest on Long Island, WIsh I could afford to live there! However, the really big drawback to the Shack is that it's become biker haven. There are motorcycles everywhere. The exhaust smells terrible, and the bikes are extremely noisy. I have come to see, over the years, that all of the very nicest neighborhoods on Long Island are taken over by bikers on weekends, especially on the North Shore. Can't they just stay away and let a nice thing be?

The Shack has the burgers and hot dogs you would expect from a roadside pit stop but for more discriminating palates, they also serve wine and the freshest seafood catches of the day. When you come to the Shack, you have it to try the house specialty, the lobster roll — yum! Family is emphisized, quality is extensive, and if it rains, there is an enormous covered seating area. Cmon down!
