don't take your tv here.
this place is a complete rip off. We had 2 TV go out in the same manner, one was still under warranty and the warranty guy told us exactly what was wrong and gave us a ball park on what it woudl take to fix it. These guys said that it shouldn't be too much, to bring it in and for $80 they could tell us what was wrong and what it would cost. That $80, turned into an additional $90 before they would touch it, and than an additional $75 for different parts that they didn't know about in the first place and that's in addition to their hourly labor rate of $135. Or was it $125 because I got told both.
By unhappy customer October 21, 2011 at 02:12 PMSix weeks & $230 later, still broken
Turned in my 42-inch LCD TV on 28 May for repair, was told it'd be a couple weeks. Received phone call 16 June explaining the TV needed a $150 part, and it would be a couple more weeks. After no contact for a month, on July 12 I called and was told the part had arrived and the TV was assigned to a tech. Was promised a call back with status. Next day after no call I phoned and was told same thing; the gentleman at Teletech didn't know the status, didn't know how long I should expect to wait (yes, six weeks is normal) and got exasperated with my simple questions but again promised a call back. Next day I was called and told TV needed an additional $230 part plus labor to install. Total bill would rise to $640 with no promise the TV would be fixed and only 30-day warranty after repair. Paid my $230 bill and retrieved my still-broken TV after they had it six weeks.

I've heard horror stories about electronics repair shops. My TV was too expensive to just throw out, so I had to go somewhere. I called the store where I bought it and they recommended Teletech Service. They were able to fix it quickly and it didn't cost a fortune. Most of my electronics are disposable, but it's nice to know I have a place to take my higher end stuff if it breaks down.
