Lake Charles Martial Arts is not what most would consider a “standard” martial arts school. We take our martial arts training beyond the school and into the community.

A martial artist is a person who helps others while encouraging others to do the same. A martial artist does this without expecting anything in return. Not even a thank you. The students of Lake Charles Martial Arts work hard, and many go beyond the call of duty to their fellow man to make sure that we help as many as we can.

Martial Arts are more than just standing in a line while punching and kicking to a count in another language. It is not simply, as many put it, “way of life.” It is the essence of who we are as human beings. Some of us are talented at kicks while others are talented at blocks. Still others have talents at organization or research. This combination of sharing these talents and skills plays a huge role to make the lives of those in need better, if just for a single day.

The Lake Charles Martial Arts family extends beyond our location. It reaches across the lines of styles, systems, and teaching methods. It goes beyond the surface banter of how one should punch or ranking requirements. We have a family of friends and volunteers who may never suit up for a class, but they see the essence of what martial arts are all about. Doing what is right, because it is the right thing to do.

We train in Karate, Aikido, Kung-Fu, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu so that we may defend ourselves against a physical attack. We keep our minds sharp through education and knowledge, so we may defend against an intellectual attack. We keep our bodies healthy and in a top form to defend against ailments. Through this hard work, we are able to pass along some of the blessings, we receive to others that have stumbled and are in a time of need.

Lake Charles Martial Arts is a school of self defense. We stand as a beacon to show the path to personal greatness. Our programs stand alone to bring about the very best in not just internal growth but physical ability as well. We encourage our members, friends, and volunteers to recognize that, even if the challenge is great, one person can take the lead and make a positive difference.
