    From Richard Sullivan

My name is Richard Sullivan, I am the owner of SteamWorld Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning. I noticed we have a bad review and I wish to respond to that review.

I am pleased to say that 99.9% of all responses from our customers are excellent. We follow up with our customers when the service is complete. I personally walk into businesses where we cleaned the carpet to make sure the customer is happy with their results.

Our office does a follow up with all residential customers after the job is complete to make sure they are happy. Again 99.9% of all responses are excellent.
If by chance there is a problem, we set up an appt to get our technicians back out and its "free".

We cleaned for Athens Christian Church in Athens IL.
I walked into the church approx 3 days after the cleaning was done and the informed me that someone had an accident (soup) on the carpet. I told the personnel in the church that we would remove that for them at no charge. This was no fault of ours about the soup spill however I want our customers to be taken care of. I personally went out and removed the soup spill from the carpet at no cost to the church.

As per the incident with our phone receptionist...
Its hard for me to beleive that someone was not pleased with the way our phone receptionist answers the phone. I don't beleive this was with our company because we don't charge our customers for coming back to take care of any problems...such as Athens Church.

As per hidden charges . . . Our charges for service here are the same for one customer as they are for other customers. There is only 1 set charge for hallway, bathrooms, closets, etc. There is a set charge for pet enzymes, deodorizers, etc. Any and all charges are explained to our customers before any work is started because we don't want to surprise our customer.

As per appreciating our customers . . . We give discounts to our customers, we may charge for 5 rooms and do the 6th room for free. My son and I was on a job working together on a big house in Mill Creek.
We was cleaning I beleive 5 rooms of carpet or so. We got downstairs and there was a office to our left and I walked over the kitchen where the customer was and I
said to him that we would clean the office carpet for free if he wanted us to. He said sure. I told him that we would do that for him because we appreciate his business...and we do!

Our company hands out cards "Point The Way". These cards are for our customers to fill out about the service they received from our company. We have a book full of them. If any prospective customer wishes to look over this book, please contact me or my office.

I have had customers tell me "If you ever need a reference, give them my name and number'. I have those customers names and numbers for anyone wishing to call these customers for reference on the quality of work our technicians put out and how my office handled their call from start to finish.

Our customers receive a Thank You letter when we come out to clean. My cell phone # is on that letter should they need to contact me about any problems or the way my office or technicians conduct business. I have been in business since Jan 1, 2000 and I've never been contacted by any customer with a negative reponse to how business was conducted. My cell phone # is 217-652-7895 and I am available to speak with my customers or any prospective customers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Thank you for readying my reply.
    Have a Blessed Day.

Bad customer service, Hidden costs, Doesn't follow through w/ promises

I was very pleased with the service & professional attitude of the men who cleaned my carpets. However, the secretary needs to work on her attitude. When I called back to schedule my "courtesy clean" she said there would be a $45 charge. When I asked why, she said it was b/c it was not with in 15 days of the first cleaning. I told her that I was not aware of that & maybe it wasn't explained to me or something. She snapped back "Yes it was! And it's right there on your sheet!" Funny, she wasn't there when things were explained to me so how would she know. I decided against the "courtesy clean" & will just have to deal w/ the spots they missed under my furniture. I don't recommend this company now that I've dealt w/ this woman. Don't bother w/ this company. Find a company that actually treats their customers with respect & will actually follow though with their promises!
