Rev. Sharon Mc Clain Ph.D.
Pastor Arlene Pressley is an anointed Woman of God. She preaches truth, she teaches truth and love. The congregation makes visitors feel at home and ready to worship Jesus Christ. Her husband, all of the church officers and laymen are just as anointed. I always feel welcomed whenever I visit Southside Church. "Southside in the house!". Let the church say Amen. Blessings, Rev. Sharon

An historic Church founded on biblical principles and dynamic activism
Southside Church Center founded by the Revs. Randolph L. Jones and Abram Elijah Sr. in 1970 at 1523 South Street in the city of Philadelphia. The Church has since relocated and is currently pastored by the Rev. Arlene Presley. Southside was originally named "Crusader community tabernacle rehabilitation center" by the young people who initially organized it on the campus of Germantown High School in 1967. This group of young Christians found themselves in the midst of the Black power movement of that time and undertook the task of defending the faith amidst challenges of relevancy, accusations of falsity and charges of betrayal of the poor, powerless and dispossessed. Their response was at first rhetorical, then proceeded into activisim, and on to organizational, structural and finally programmatic. Southside Church was the result and today continues to advance the Gospel of Jesus, the Christ, in its fullest flower as the one and only effective, true and demonstrable solution today.
