Murphy's Music rips people off!!!!!!!!!!

Murphy's Music are the biggest crooks in the music business. I don't understand how they can still be in business after all the stories I hear about them ripping people off.\t\n\t\nThey ripped me off about 19 years ago when I brought my 4*12 cabinet to them to be modified. I paid for the service in full at the time I dropped it off. A week later when I returned to pick up my cab, I had lost my receipt so I when tried to get them to look for their copy, they refused and insisted that I had not paid when indeed I did. I argued for quite sometime until I gave up and paid in full AGAIN in order to get my equipment back.\t\n\t\nThen I was stupid enough to go back to them because I did not want to drive all the way to GC just to pick up two 50' cables that I needed in a hurry one day. I was told that these cables were top of the line and they were expensive too. I only used them to run over the rafters from my keyboard setup to my console. They have never been tugged, pulled, stepped on, or jolted in any way shape or form. They have only been draped across the rafters but for some reason they have lost their continuity and don't work. Come to find out they are the cheapest cables available and those Murphy crooks once again RIPPED ME OFF. I think those two bros. must be Irish Travelers.

Since Irving Mall

I have been going there since they were in the mall and I was a kid. When Buzzy and Mike started running it and started gearing it more towards working musicians, I used it even more. I've purchased several acoustic guitars and enough strings to go around the planet from them over the years and my wife buys her mics and cords there. I have never had a bad experience there. I have been there when they are busy and things are rushing... people can seem ""too busy"" or whatever, but once I decided what I was really interested in and waited for help they have always taken as much time as necessary with me. Their staff is knowledgeable and I am happy to deal with any of them. I don't always have to ask for Buzzy. I get treated just as well. Very Happy. and thank you guys for all you have done for me and my family over the years.

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible.

Guitar crew was amazing, especially the repair guy who gave me tips on keeping up the strat and Dean acoustic I had/have. The orchestral associate was the nicest of them all and seemed rather out of place in his sweater and slacks. LoL\t\nI got dirty looks from the PA crew upon entering the store and worse looks when I entered the PA room.\t\nOne PA rep was playing with a drum machine. I had a beat come into my head and asked him how I'd incorporate a roll. He told me I could ""slow the tempo down all the way, go 'tap tap tap,' then speed it back up again"". LoL\t\n\t\nIn observing their three violins I settled on the less expensive 4/4. The other 4/4 was around $500. At $384 I decided to put it on layaway. They informed me of this arbitrary layaway interest they accredited to people who decided to back out of the deal. I payed it off in three payments and set up lessons a week before bringing it home.\t\nWhen I go to my first lesson my violin teacher told me that the bow they gave me was a 3/4-sized bow - for a full-sized (4/4) violin. I returned to the store the next day and traded in the bow without incident. I also picked up the only shoulder rest they had under the advisement of my teacher but they couldn't tell me anything about it nor how to put it on my instrument.\t\nNow the worst part:\t\n\t\nIn shopping for the violin I didn't take heed of the brand names.\t\nWhen I got home I looked inside for the maker's mark and Googled it - Bestler. ...I payed $400 for a $99 violin that only got a single star in customer ratings. One website advertised it'd be good for photographers' models instead of actually playing!\t\nThe best thing I got out of the the deal was the case - the bow wasn't the only thing they mismatched.\t\n\t\nAll in all I'm glad I no longer live in Irving or I'd give Mike Murphy a piece of my mind for ripping me off on this deal. And rip me off he did. Hardcore. I suppose research would have been good for me, too.\t\n\t\nI wouldn't advise anyone to go here at all.\t\n\t\n-k-
