About Head Start
Head Start is a comprehensive child development program serving children ages 3 to 5 and their families. Our program has been in operation for the past thirty seven years.

Our Mission Statement

We encourage comprehensive child and family development so that families are respected for the ability to nurture and support their children and children will achieve social competence in all areas of their development.

Child Start, Inc. has 84 staff members and a funded enrollment of 354 children. There are many options including Part Day, Full Day, Home Start, and Full Day Programs.

Community Partnerships

Child Start, Inc. has many community partnerships.

* WIC and Missoula Health Department provide nutrition services to families.
* Speech and other Special services are provided by Missoula County Public Schools.
* Even Start and University of Montana provide family and early literacy services.
* Mental health enrichment services are provided through Western Montana Mental Health Center. St. Patrick's Hospital provides health screenings and follow-up services.
* Foster grandparents and the Council for Aging offer educational services.
