M & L Milevoi

John Milevoi is an incompetent, unresponsive landlord with a terribly unprofessional and rude office staff. Three women in the office are named Mary Anne and won't identify which one they are, if you ask. Don't even bother talking to Elizabeth, who appears to have borde...rline personality disorder. People in my building (49 St. Nicholas) have a difficult time getting any repairs done, appliances replaced, etc. Heat (well, lack thereof) is an issue EVERY winter. One Christmas, we had no heat for two days and someone at the office hung up on me when I called to complain. Milevoi is also unconcerned about drug activity in our building, so it's not uncommon to find crack addicts passed out in the stairwell in the summer. Rents are rising here, despite no repairs to the building. If you have the misfortune of living in a Milevoi building, document your issues with pictures, send formal letters of complaint to the office in addition to calls, and call NYC Housing Court. This is not a management company that cares about tenants, so you'll have to fight for a habitable apartment. P.S. The positive reviews for this landlord are clearly bogus. Nice work, Elizabeth. i live in 34-02 153rd st flushing. i had to pay $1,000 maintenance fee when I first moved in. With one month rent and deposit fee which is fine, but i never heard of a maintenance fee of $1000. My sink was always clogged up, I had to buy and install my own door lock... because they refused to put one in! They lied about the heat being included- NO HEAT! cockroaches, no response from landlord at all and when you do call the employee named Elizabeth( I believe that was her name) she yelled at me and was really rude, unprofessional, disgusting, and hung up the phone on me. No window screen until four months of complaining. $85 for one key and I had to make my own extra copies. Bathroom window was glued shut and could never be opened. The landlord wanted me to pay out of pocket to fix te bathroom window!!! Front entrance door was always broken. And most importantly, my security deposit wasnt returned to me after many phone calls and the managment keeps hanging up on me. THIS IS THE WORSE BUILDING I HAVE EVER LIVED IN. they are THIEVES!!!! I live on the top floor of 47 Saint Nicholas Ave. There is a huge leak in my ceiling. I'm afraid the roof is going to come in on me in my sleep. No hot water. No water pressure, no deadbolt on my door just a chincy doorknob, no heat, cockroaches. No response from the landlord. They just want to raise the rent. Stay away from these people at all costs.

Renting an apartment from this management company was the biggest mistake I've ever made. Before moving into this apartment (my 1st one ever) I was skeptical because the lobby & elevator look similar to those found in the projects. One of the FIRST things I asked the Su...per was: "are there any problems w/ heat/hot water in the winter (I moved in July)?" I was guaranteed by the super that although the lobby & elevator visually looks ghetto, the tenants aren't & there are NO problems w/the heat OR hot water. As it turns out--that's a BIG FAT LIE!! The heat comes on sporadically & there is hardly EVER hot water. Last Fri, there was NO RUNNING water for a few hours, then only cold. I've notified the super & was told "he knows, he lives in the building too". I've also notified the landlord's secretary who was RUDE & UNPROFESSIONAL along with 311.
