Come by and try our homemade gourmet wraps, salads, deli salads, soups, and hot entrees!  Everything is made fresh, in-house, right down to our potato potato chips (we offer sweet potato chips too)!

Event if you are new to event planning and catering, most of you have been to parties...
Ask yourselves--what did you like? What did not appeal to you?
And then apply that to the event you are planning.
Do you want something casual, fun, laid back, such as picnic or a BBQ?
Or would you rather have a formal event, with upscale passed hors d'oeuvres and a gourmet coffee bar?
What is your budget for your event?  Do you want several courses, or just some appetizers?
Think about your guests, and the type of event you are having--a wedding, shower, graduation party, anniversary, or a party just to gather with friends and family? 
A caterer really should be able to assist you in these determinations--some of which you will make due to personal choice, and some of which may be determined by your budget.
Whether you would like something more low-key or more formal, your caterer should be able to guide you through the process-from rentals, to service to the actual food and day-of flow of your guests, an experienced caterer should be helpful in all of these realms. And, many times caterers with background and experience can refer you to your other vendors, if necessary--and can highly recommend them.
Don't let a caterer tell you that they have "set menus"--and CAN'T do something--I recently heard of a caterer who said that they would not cater a buffet-style meal because it was "beneath them." True story.  A caterer should be able to build a menu for you, from beginning to end, that suits your needs--and tastes.
A Caterer should CATER to your needs, tastes and budget--it's the definition of the word!
You should also feel comfortable with a caterer--after all, food is an important part of your event--and even if the food tastes great, the process should be smooth--you also want the food served on-time and presented well.  Meet with various caterers before selecting one. Do they ensure you that it'll all be ok? Do they offer references for you to check out?  Do they offer a free tasting?  All of these are questions that you should ask yourselves and have answers to before you put down a deposit and entrust your food at your event to someone!
