David is very articulate, and can be very charming and engaging, so comes across well in the initial meeting, and is well-liked by insiders in the local legal community. Unfortunately, he is disorganized and forgetful, changes direction often, lacks the ability to plan and stick to a strategy, is extremely poor about following up on leads and opportunities in a timely way and procrastinates until the last minute, then tries to slide by with glad-handing bluster, off-the-cuff preparation and shoot-from-the-hip statements. Moreover, once he forms an opinion and gets something in his mind, he becomes immovable about it. I pity those clients who choose to hire him and end with more severe penalties because he is too lazy and self-important to put in the necessary work on their behalf. Be warned: all of his considerable limitations risk leaving you in a lurch, while he risks nothing, suffers nothing and still expects to collect his full fee.
