Updates & tips from GhostSecPro, LLC

It's been a while...

It's been some time since I last posted...lots of personal stuff going on. I'll try and keep it short and sweet...
My family went through a great deal beginning in June 2013 when my brother and sister-in-law both realized they had a "problem" and needed to make some MAJOR changes. They separated and my brother moved out and finally sought help for his "problem". However, my sister-in-law was still in denial and I was asked to step in and take custody of my then 2 yr old nephew. While it's difficult scheduling my time around my special needs adult, suddenly having a 2 yr again made things quite interesting. He had been in a really crappy situation and it took him a while to adjust but we quickly made him feel safe and comfortable and he began to relax.

Flash forward to now...My brother is doing great and is literally starting over. He's got a new job and is looking for a place to call his own and begin to be a Daddy again. His two oldest kids are also doing great and the little guy is in Pre-School and, well, growing like a weed! Unfortunately, my sister-in-law did not do as well and passed away last June. We miss her very much and while my nephew and daughter are unaware of her passing for the time being, everything seems to finally be coming together! (The reason they are unaware is because he really didn't have a memory of her and my daughter's special needs created a situation where we felt we could tell my nephew when he started asking about his Mom or was older and better able to process the information.)

So, in the midst of all this, I still have a business to run. Trying to figure out how to do business in my home office while a little one needs me for well, everything, has been interesting as well. Reorganizing, rescheduling, revamping, and rebuilding...well you get the picture. While working with my clients and resolving their needs, I decided it was time to rework my own business and website.

On that note...please be patient with me while I get through the redesign of my website...I can't wait to share it with you and hope to have it completed by the end of April!

So...Stay Tuned!

Sherri

You Get What You Pay For!

Okay folks...yet again I am disappointed by a business who says they can't afford me...I just don't understand why folks think I should work for FREE! REALLY?
I take care of an administrative function or functions within your business that allows you to do something else in order to get more done. I have a great work ethic in that nothing is completely done unless my client says it's done, I have other clients who are happy, yet some folks just don't get it.

You know the saying? You've probably even thought or said it yourself. Do you really know what it means? In the business world, I mean?

It is so frustrating running a business these days! People expect you to work for free and I must say that I am completely sick of it!

I understand the need to cut corners, do things yourself, do more with less but when you realize things are falling through the cracks and you need help, then you either hire someone to come in every day and pay them or you find another alternative.

Now, I don't like to say I'm cheap...mostly because that's just not how I want to be perceived in the professional world. However, if you must compare, why would you pay someone an hourly rate, office space, a computer, and all the taxes associated with hiring that person. Even at $10 dollars an hour for 20 hours per week, that's $200 per WEEK!

You could hire and Administrative Consultant. We are business owners so you are not paying us a salary with all that entails. You are paying an agreed upon for for agreed upon tasks. No overhead, no unprofessional, inept temps or employees, I am a business owner and not only is my job to help you, it is also to make sure all my clients are happy and the work is done!

Look folks, I am a professional business woman taking on various responsibilities for you so you are
better able to run your business. I have specific strengths and you are paying for that professionalism.
You are not paying for someone with poor writing skills, a so-so education, and poor work ethic to help
run and grow your business. My skill sets are vast and have been honed with over 20 years experience. You no longer don't have to worry about day-to-day tasks. I know what I have to do and I get it done! Will your temp or part-time person be that reliable? What skill sets do you think you can get for $10 an hour?

Again, the saying "you get what you pay for" is hitting pretty close to home for me these days. I don't
understand why a company who already knows they need the help just doesn't want to PAY for the help!

Any thoughts out there guys? I sure would appreciate some insight which am obviously lacking!

Thanks and happy blogging!

Sherri

What to do???

Well, I guess even an Administrative Assistant who is technically savvy, can have computer problems! Yes, it seems as though my laptop has caught a cold which has totally disrupted my week! The silver lining to this cloud is that I will have 2 computers as of Wednesday next week and be even better able to assist my clients!

Speaking of clients...Jason Bass of TriScion Web Videos is offering a great new service that will surely help the unemployed who are trying to make that amazing first impression and get ahead of all the other applicants! Want to know more? Well...check out Video Resumes...the next BIG THING!

TriScion also creates amazing videos for companies. He's currently looking for Real Estate professionals and Speakers who would like to utilize video to fully inform the public about their business.

I was hoping to get a new newsletter out but with all the computer issues and just plain business, I've had trouble getting it together. I'm almost there and should have it out Tuesday. I think I've also decided to make it a quarterly newsletter instead of monthly. Business has really picked up and, I'm sure you will agree, my clients have to come first.

I'll be presenting a Lunch-n-Learn for the Barrow County Chamber of Commerce. We are trying to get it out there for folks so we can get some great attendance! The Lunch-n-Learn is for folks who have signed up for LinkedIn but then have no idea what to do next. I will walk them through how to use LinkedIn to their advantage. I will be using this presentation and training as a platform to possibly provide Corporate training, Lunch-n-Learns, and employee appreciation type seminars such as Health&Wellness;: Controlling Stress and Staying Healthy Naturally and others.

Lots going on...Tell me...how are things in your businesses? Email me and let me know if I can help in any way.

Until next time...Happy Blogging!
