Treatment Program Violated My Confidentiality
After deciding to leave the program and informing the center that I would be discontinuing service, my program case manager called a relative (an emergency contact) and told them I wasn't attending, they also insinuated that I "cared more about my job than about getting... help". It is a violation of federal law to disclose attendance. People attending this service should know that the business has specific opinions about interpreting the laws of disclosure that it doesn't mind violating. In other words they told me that they have the right to disclose anything disacussed at the center to relatives.
