Quality Tattoos

There's no better place in the STL/Metro area to get a QUALITY TATOO at a REASONABLE PRICE and it's SAFE (everything is sterile)! If I were to rate the work alone (tattoos, piercings) I would give the shop a 10, 100, 1000, etc.! If I were to rate Roland on people ...skills, again I'd give him 10, 100, 1000, there's not enough I can say about his personality as he can calm the scariest of people, mainly me (never thought I'd make it through my 1st tattoo and now I have 3 and it's all because of Roland's personality and skills.) He has a large selection of tattoos, will use your design or design for you. I won't go anywhere else! After my 1st tattoo some 12 years ago, the majority of my family and friends all go to Roland (Godfamilies-maybe 10-20 people, Godmother-70yr old for her b/d). Approx. 2 yrs ago we went as a group (made an appt) to have tattoos done for 5 people to celebrate children

Bogus Accusations...

I, lauren tell, am currently under apprentice status at Black Pearl Gallery. A 16 yr respected company that also operates a not-for-profit (runway2empowerment). I am efficiently trained to conduct all aspects of piercing. Its unfortunate that my ex had informed me that he posted accusations to tarnish my career.

Its A Good Cheap Place

I went there on Saturday February 12 the place was hella packed and they started turning people away so I decided to go the next day because I wanted to get a tattoo for my birthday which is on Valentines Day. There was a kid there asking people what they wanted so I to...ld him a tattoo of mickey mouse on my lower back. The kid looked to be around 15 years old. I waited there about an hour and a half before asking for my money back. It was a chubby cute guy there and he was like naw baby girl we goin make sure you get a tatt for your birthday and about ten minutes later I wuz gettin my tatt so all in all I think the place is great I got a tatt there before and I also got my tongue pierced there everybody I know go there it also have reasonable prices unlike other places that charge you $45 dollars for just a name.

Dirty scary shop

I went here to get my eyebrow pierced. There were tons of people just wandering around, I think many people live in this building. It was hard to tell who worked there. I look very young, and instead of asking for actual ID, they just asked if I had any tattoos. Showing... them my tattoos on my legs was proof enough for them. (I look about 15. sketchy sketchy!) There was no paperwork to fill out, no release, nothing. They didn't even know my name. When I walked in, the girl asked what I was there for, and I said eyebrow piercing. She told me it would be $25. I gave her my money, and she walked away, giving me no information. After standing there for about 15 minutes, confused, someone finally called me into the back. I was about ready to bolt, but she DID put on new, clean gloves and the needle was from a sealed package. She did not, however, draw the dots on my eye so I could see where it was going to go, like she should have. There was also no hardware choice - usually you should get to pick the color or something! The other girl who was supposed to be working the front was wandering around on her cell phone talking about how she wanted to f**k this guy, and she hoped his girl friend would get too wasted to notice... it was really classy (not).\t\n\t\nSince a piercing can come out and isn't permanent, I decided to risk it. It looks okay, but definitely could have been way better. There is no way in HELL I would get a tattoo here. \t\n\t\nAlso, do you notice all the reviews mention roland by name? I think he is writing those himself.

More Happy Customers Than Haters

For all those saying its a dirty shop and all that stuff, why would you stay and get a tat there after thinking its dirty? So any flaw is your own fault. The shop used to be a hair salon, but they have turned it around nicely. I have gotten 7 of my 13 tattoos from th...em, and I ONLY let Roland touch me, I can't speak for any other artist there. And I absolutely love Tracey(his wife). They are very sanitary, at least Roland and Tracey are, as I said I can't speak for anyone else. Roland has done wonderful work on all my tats, and is such a sweetheart and pleasure to work with. Stop hating, cuz if you had any ill feelings when you walked in you should have walked your self right back out the door. But Roland you have no reason to worry, there are more pleased people than there are haters!

looking for a good tattoo? Keep looking

Sorry guys I would have to say I have never seen a really nice tattoo come out of this shop, and I've seen alot of there work. I've been in the tattoo buisness for 15 years, and only have seen a couple just OK tattoos from here. It's time to give it up guys.
