About Avatar Gaming and Gifts
We created Avatar Gaming & Gifts because we wanted to be able to go to a store in the off season of Renaissance faires and buy the same things. We also wanted a place where people could game that wouldn't be small or cramped..
For the gamer, we have dice, Dung...eons & Dragons books, books for other d20 games, . We have supplies for live-action roleplaying games including medieval costumes and latex weapons as well as latex appliances. We also carry medieval gifts and other sundry items that have caught our fancy.
For everyone, we have armor and swords. Jewelry and polyresin skulls fill some of our displays. Rune sets, calligraphy sets, Papo figurines, Tree-Free greeting cards (they use pulp from a bush and not a tree) and woodenware and incense are some other items we also carry. We have hats - pirate, wizard, jester, and others. We have tapestries.
We have tabletop games such as Settlers of Catan and Carcassonne and Munchkin and Zombies!. Have we piqued your interest yet? If you don't see it and we can find it, we will order it for you with no special order fee.
You may find us in parks and open areas in the summer. We are dreaming up all sorts of stuff to do in costume. .

The Hulk
I must have been exeptionally tired when I saw this movie because I was bored. There was very little tension to keep me watching. The plot was predictable. My spousal unit was wondering if I had seen the movie before since I could tell him who was behind certain things and who was going to do something next. I hadn't and I hadn't read anything about the plot even at rottentomatoes.com. But the plot was obvious.
In some respects it was better than the earlier Hulk but in others, not as good. Fun movie but I think it could have been better.

Iron Man
This was a fun movie. It was, dare I say, shocking to see Jeff Bridges as a villain. This was the man who was Star Man and he's a villain in Iron Man.
This was an intelligent funny movie - the icing up of the suit when at high altitudes, etc. I couldn't see any obvious continuity breaks which are my pet peeve. It was well acted and the only real issue I had with the storyline was that it was somewhat unbelievable that the US government wouldn't have intercepted the ransom video and translated it for themselves. Or maybe they did and just ignored it?

Mummy Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
The first two movies had a definite quest to them. This one was no where near as, dare I say, cerebral. But what I was looking for that night was good, light hearted fare so that I coud get away from the day at work. And this movie fit the bill to a tee.
