About Arizona School of Traditional Okinawa Martial Arts

So eloquently spoken are the words of Gichin Funakoshi - "THE PURPOSE OF KARATE LIES NOT IN VICTORY OR DEFEAT, BUT IN PERFECTION OF ITS PARTICIPANTS".

These are words we live by. We work to produce positive people & teach traditions of Okinawan Shorin-Ryu karate & kobudo (ancient weapons), self-defense, kata (forms), bunkai (applications) & samurai arts.

WHEN YOU walk through our door at the Arizona School of Traditional Karate in Mesa you will feel as if you were transported to Shuri, Okinawa. Traditional Schools give a sense of Japanese culture. Our décor in our reception & training facility (dojo) is Japanese. Take a look at our clock, our shomen (front wall), our kamidana (place of honor), our flower arrangements. We speak English, but we also add Japanese.

At the Arizona School of Traditonal Karate in Mesa, Zen & karate mix as they should. The Zen philosophy is part of rebuilding yourself as a positive person.

We offer training of the mind, spirit & body by teaching philosophy, Shorin-Ryu Karate, Kobudo, Self-Defense & Samurai Arts for beginner to the most advanced master of martial arts.
.
Our Hombu at the Arizona School of Traditional Karate is Affiliated with Seiyo Kai International, Juko Kai International & Zen Kokusai Soke Budo Bugei Renmei.

We support our troops and the American Way - God Bless America!
