Younique Pool Renovations & Repairs

My wife and I were in the final stage of buying a pool home on a canal In Plantation. It was going to be a costly purchase and we wanted to be confident there were no major issues before closing. We hired Younique Pools to perform a separate inspection on the swimming pool because it was not covered in the main home inspection, just to be extra sure.

We called Younique Pools, a seemingly reputable company, who assured us they'd let us know of any potential danger. They came to the house for the inspection and sent us a Report which said all the pool systems were in good working condition and that no leaks were found. There was nothing negative and nothing indicating any minor or major problems or that anything was impending. We closed on the house a few days later.

We noticed over time the water level in the pool was going down at a slow pace and we were having to fill it semi-frequently. It got worse so we called in an expert to take a look. We were shocked to find out the 30,000 gallon pool Younique told us was in good shape had a major beam crack which went around half of the entire pool along the coping and that the pool would need to be completely renovated! We got a second opinion and were told the same thing. Both company's quotes were similar and we paid one of them around $14,000 for the work. We were told there was no possible way THAT much severe damage had occurred just recently and that whoever did the inspection should have done testing and also have seen several obvious signs that this humongous crack was present when the pool inspection was done.

We felt we'd done everything in our power to protect ourselves before purchasing the house. We feel strongly that Younique Pools did not do what we specifically hired them for and that it cost us in a big way financially. Had we been made aware of the problem before closing, we could have saved ourselves a lot of money. We contacted Younique's Owner before the renovation started and he denied having any responsibility or liability. He refused to even come look at the pool and also hung up the phone on me. Based upon how unprofessional and uncooperative they were, we decided to file legal action, which Younique is fighting all the way.

People should know that this was, and still is, my experience with Younique Pools and that I would not recommend them to anyone.
