The bad reviews are true. Don't use them!

These guys will tell you whatever they think you need to hear to give them your hard drive. Once they have it, they pretty much take it hostage knowing full well that what is on it is important to you and hence try to force you to pay a ton of money for that data. They are very vague about how much it's going to cost and very bad at communicating any relevant info with their customers. Data recovery is a specialized/expensive service and believe me these guys know it. They may or may not know what they are doing with data recovery, but they sure know what they are doing when they take advantage of people. Do yourself a favor and first try every other option as to possibly getting your hard drive working again. If all else fails, find a reputable and reasonably priced data recovery company. You were wise to research DriveCrash.com / Ai Networks first. I didn't and learned the hard way.

Beware and Avoid this Company

These guys are truly a scam. The positive reviews here have to be fake. Beware of the service reps, especially the guy named Lou (the other Lou) who is creepy to work with on the phone. Prefers to get in to your personal business as a way of getting the customer comfortable and obscure the man's obvious lack of tech savvy.Be careful when asking specific questions, you won't get a straight answer.Mailed him my hard drive, filled out the requisite form and hear nothing back from them. I emailed several times and called only to listen to Lou the used car salesman explain how they wont know if data is there until they go in--which of course he said he would do me a favor and reduce the 500 dollar fee of just looking down to 425. Its the ole scam of making the customer feel like he is doing them a favor. When I said I did not want that and to return my hard drive, he would not. At least not in a timely manner or with any follow up. Took over 2 months to get it back. AVOID THEM!!

Bad experience

I sent a client's hard drive to them to recover data. They were cheaper than the company I normally use and I wanted to save the customer some money. It still cost the client $1800 and what they got was absolute junk...the client just threw it in the trash. Drivecrash threw up their hands and hid behind the "we don't guarantee recovery" clause in the contract. At least with the company I normally use I get a listing of the files that can be recovered.

My choice to use this data recovery company cost me a client and even through it's been a while since it happened, I'm still really angry at myself for using this company.
