About Las Cruces, NM
In southern New Mexico, the desert city of Las Cruces stands at the intersection of interstates 10 and 25, an important crossroads for those traveling the American Southwest. In the low-lying Mesilla Valley, Las Cruces is just 42 miles west of El Paso, Texas and is about 225 miles south of Albuquerque. It is home to New Mexico State University and not far from Hatch, where the distinctive chile peppers are grown and exported widely.
