RESPONSE to ""AstoldbyEva"", as this is
RESPONSE to ""AstoldbyEva"", as this is the only way to respond.\t\n\t\nI sent Eva a direct response first. I exlplained that I can still take care of thie item for her. She has not replied, or come in as she stated ""This review stands until I see Leo on June 2."" I do have to ask, why even post a incomplete review, why not wait until the process is complete with the business. \t\n\t\nI discussed the ring on the phone before she came in (Spoke with her via phone, May 30 10:55am, as indicated in my log book), and I did give her the $23,00 to $26,000+ range (A range I still feel I can get for her). I indicated she needed to come and talk to me directly, as a tiffany ring like hers has more options, especially since she had the tiffany paperwork for the diamonds. \t\n\t\nWe discussed that a cash buy out was not a good alternative as it would yield her much less, but that I could execute the other options mentioned with in a week or two.. . . again indicated that I needed to look at her ring personally. We even discussed my schedule. \t\n\t\nWhen she came in, she did not mention to Charlie that She and I had spoke on the phone, as he could have looked at my notes in my log book. The breakdown for each diamond is listed in my log book from Our Phone conversation with a target base price for the diamonds only, as she did not know the weight of the platinum mounting when we spoke on the phone. \t\n\t\nI am glad that Charlie was pleasant and personable, I am also glad that he estimated the 3.58 carat total weight three round diamond ring at 3.51 carat total weight before the paperwork was presented. Any professional in the industry would love to be that accurate by measuring 3 mounted diamonds. \t\n\t\nShe let Charlie know at the end of her visit that she spoke with me on the phone. She also acknowledged that the prices we discussed on the phone were not a cash out buy price, but an amount I could get her utilizing one of the options at my disposal. She also acknowledged that we agreed that I needed to personally handle this item for her. \t\n\t\n\t\n \t\n Leo Anglo

I was thoroughly disappointed with my experience at Vincent's jewelers. While Charlie, the associate I dealt with was both pleasant and personable, I felt as if he sized me up & gave me what can only be described as an insulting offer for my ring.\t\n\t\nI brought in a 3.58 carat (total), 3 stone, round cut, Tiffany & Co. diamond engagement ring that is G colored, VS2 clarity, rated as an excellent cut and set in a .93 platinum band. It retailed for $46,300 about a year and a half ago and has all of the original certificates/paper work.\t\n\t\nI came in considering either selling/resetting & here is where it all went down the drain...\t\n\t\n1. He measured it at 3.51C before<< I told him I had the paper work and was intimately familiar with the specs; when I mentioned this little discrepancy, I was met with a resounding "" Well, I was pretty close"". He was NOT by any means rude but it certainly made me raise an eyebrow.\t\n\t\n2. He couldn't find the crown inscription on any of the 3 stones. Tiffany & Co. laser inscribes all of their diamonds & bands - which can be seen at 20x mag.\t\n\t\n3. He offered me $10,000 maybe $12,000 if I was very lucky - which I found rather curious seeing as how I was quoted a completely different price when I called earlier in the day with the same exact info ....and by different, I mean 26G to 30G vs his 10 - 12.\t\n\t\nIn all fairness, he found all 3 inscriptions after I rejected the offer and made it apparently clear that his offer was nowhere near the realm of legitimate consideration.\t\n\t\nWhile anyone who's done their research knows that Tiffany's has quite the markup and that selling to a jeweler means accounting for their costs, there is no way in hell, heaven or earth that someone can look you in the face and offer you 10G for a 46G ring with the above specifications and call themselves honest. \t\n\t\nIf anyone knows where I can find 3.5 carat G VS2 Tiffany diamond rings for 10g (heck I will even take 15) PLEASE let me know because I'd like to stock up......\t\n\t\nI will be returning on Saturday (June 2, 2012) to Leo (the manager?) but until then, this review shall remain as is. \t\n\t\nSeller beware
By AstoldEva at Citysearch June 01, 2012 at 02:53 AMSoo great!
Recently, I went to Vincent's Jewelers to sell gold and had a wonderful experience. I felt the entire process was handled very professionally, but more importantly, I felt very comfortable that I got a more than fair quote - since I had checked several other places. Leo was informative, thorough and professional - and quickly gained our complete trust - he really knows his stuff. We have also purchased several things at Vincents and they have always been so great to work with. You all are a great team. We will be back! Thanks so much!
