Any branch of the military, active duty or reserve components is a beneficial experience for anyone following their completion of high school or college. One hitch or a career will provide lasting memories, friendships, education and experience you can not get anywhere else. With the wages and all the benefits the military provides one of the best paying careers available. Like anything else - it is what you make of it. Those who fail would most likely fail in any other job they tried. Think you MAY like it - try the reserves first, (one weekend a month and two weeks a year) if you like it go active duty. Finish a military career, retire and get another job while drawing military retirement and retirement benefits including medical and travel.

Joining the Navy will be the biggest mistake of your life, do the smart thing and go to college or get a job elsewhere!
