The Grape

I enjoyed the wine and decor of this trendy bar. However, I sat at a table next to, what I was told was a manager/owner meeting, and was appalled at what I was witnessing. I heard cursing and loud talking about employess and firing the chef while they were getting drunk and eating to their hearts' content. The place was busy and it seemed as though no one was running it. I even had to wait 5 minutes at the front door before being acknowledged. There is no hostess. There appears to be no management. I was a server once, and I was astonished at how poorly such a small place seemed to run. Our server sat down at my table and talked to me and my husband like we were best friends. She talked about her last job at Cheesecake Factory and such. I thought that was totally unacceptable. Wow, I loved the wine, the food and service were mediocre at best, and I must admit having to sit next to that meeting was an eye-opener for a 3rd time guest! WOW! Not good!!!

Short and sweet: If you are a wine junkie like me, check this place out! The food was pretty good, but the wine selection was out of this world. I really felt like I had escaped and was on a wine excursion.

The Grape (and Nick, the owner) is Amazing! I've held one private wine tasting there (the hummus, cheese plate and chocolate fondue are ALL superb!) and am planning another. The service and attention to detail is impeccable and promises to make even the most wine-challenged feel confident in wine selection after just one visit. I highly recommend them for any private wine tasting or just for a dinner for two... great food, great wine, great service... the trifecta!!
