Woo Kickboxing Academy / Team Woo BJJ

It’s been 8 months today since my wife and I began at Woo Kickboxing Academy and between us we’ve lost 70 pounds. I have never felt this good, both mentally and physically.Professor Woo and Mrs. Woo genuinely care about the success of the students in their Academy, both young and old and unselfishly give themselves to each and every one of their students to insure that success. I’m not expected to go as fast as the fastest, and I’m not expected to be as strong as the strongest. I’m just expected to show up for 1 hour a day, just 4% of my day, “Get on the mat” and go as fast and as strong as I can go for that hour. “Push yourself, don’t pace yourself” and I promise you will see your body changing in ways that you never thought were possible.Thank you Professor Woo and Mrs. Woo, you’ve changed our lives, and for that we will be forever grateful. We’ll see you “on the mat.”

I have been going to Woo Kickboxing Academy since March 2012 and it is a phenominal workout. I has improved my fitness level without a doubt. I'm not much of a runner but after a few months at Woo, I signed up for a 5k without running at all before the race, and had my best 5k time EVER. They push you til you think you can't do anything more, then they make you do MORE and then you realize you CAN do more and you leave there feeling SO empowered! You also leave dripping with sweat and exhausted, but in a very good way! More important that the fitness, though, is the support Roger and Barbara give to every person who attends one of their classes, and they gear it to all ages and fitness levels. Literally anyone can go to their classes and improve their fitness...they are not intimidating but they are relentless in helping you push yourself to be better! There is a real sense of family and community at Woo. Even on a day when I might feel like skipping, i go because I like seeing the friends I have made and I always leave being very glad I devoted that hour of time to myself. And considering all that you get from Woo Kickboxing Academy, the price is incredibly reasonable, with many class offerings at different times of day. Oh,and also, I have had to clarify with people that this is not your typical "punch the air and bounce around" kickboxing. You wear GLOVES and you punch a giant bag OR you spar using mits! It is the real deal! You will not be disappointed if you give it a try...and the first class is FREE so why not?? But don't stop with one...you will no doubt be sore but the more you go the better you feel and before you know it you will be stronger, feel more confident and probably will notice other wonderful side effects like better sleep!

Barbara and Roger Woo provide you with the best overall workouts that I have every experienced. It's like you've hired personal trainers for unlimited sessions at a fraction of the cost and you get a better workout than most pt's provide. They are always looking for ways to change up the workouts tricking your body and stimulating your muscles. This is not an easy one hour training session. It is hard work which always makes you leave feeling Super Charged! I love starting my day with a morning workout at Woo. The level of energy I leave the academy with is exactly what I need to face the day. There is no better place to relieve your stress than on the Woo mat!
