Railhead Smokehouse

Do not give any credence to any review using "BBQ", we're in Texas yall. The "barbecue" at Railhead is consistently excellent. The casual atmosphere makes for a great place to meet friends and grab a meal and a beer.

I will admit I am not from Texas. I am from St. Louis and prefer a different type of BBQ than Railhead offers. So, the main thrust of this review is to ensure those who prefer St. Louis Style BBQ or Memphis Style BBQ are not disappointed by going to Railhead and thinking that is what you are going to get here. I have gone to Railhead three to four times with co-workers for lunch; most often on the Thursday "Rib Day" for the special. The main reason that I did not like Railhead is the BBQ they serve ends up tough, overcooked, and dry. Not what I am used to. I prefer what is served up at Red Hot & Blue.\t\n\t\nBring on the Mauls!

To the guy who wrote "overrated" on 9/30/07 you don't know what real bbq should taste like...that's probably why you found it to be dry and for your comment on "Rudy's in Austin, good for you, you're not from here!\t\n\t\nRailhead BBQ is the best! Learn to appreciate!
