In October 2008 I parked my car at Barnsdall Square Shopping Center while doing bussiness in the area. The manager at the shopping center had my car towed by Quick Lift Towing. Quick Lift malaciously over charged me $190.00 to retrieve my car. The going rate at the time was $104.00. I sued Quick Lift Towing in court and have been awarded a judgement for $602.00. Quick Lift towing is a rip off. DO NOT PARK YOUR CAR OR PATRONIZE ANY BUSINESSES AT BARNSDALL SQUARE SHOPPING CENTER ON VERMONT AVE. IN LOS ANGELES. If your car is towed and you are charged more than $107.00 ( New rate as of Jan 1, 2009) take Quick Lift towing to small claims court. The owner Jose Maria Portocarrero has been told by the judge that he can only charge the going OPG rates and deliberately takes advantage of his victims. If you are a victim of this individual file a court action in small claims court.
By Romeo10 at Citysearch February 08, 2009 at 08:08 AMThey damaged my car!
When they made it out to my garage to tow my car they were not able to because they did not have a low clearance vehicle that could get into my subterranean parking. The tow truck operator offered to look under the hood to see if he could fix the problem. He moved something around and afterward the car sounded 10 x worse! Before, it would start and then cut out, now it doesn't even start, it just makes a horrible noise. When I called their office to tell them what happened, he said that the driver, Dave, didn't do anything to hurt the car and that it was a coincidence. I told him that the car sounded one way before he touched it and another way after. He proceeded to yell and then hang up on me! When I tried to call back he would hang up every time. He also told me they only take cash payment because their credit card machine is down, sounds like a scam! DONT USE THEM!
