Pme Towing

These people have no ethics. I am all for towing when it serves a reasonable purpose. But these people tow your car for no good reason, then try to make you pay whatever they want to return your car. If you are unable to pay whatever they want within 21 days, they sell your car at the auction.

Case in point - I went to a store a few minutes before it opened. The parking lot was almost empty except for 3 cars. I decided to sit on a bench on the sidewalk almost immediately in front of the store to glance over some notes. After a few minutes I got up and saw that the driver towed my car. He claimed that I was a walk-off because I was not on the property at the time when he towed - I was sitting more than 1 meter away from the property boundary.

Now a tow driver can tow my car at my expense, damage it if he likes, and if I don't fork over whatever he tells me to, he can sell my car at the auction while I'm still making payments??

This should be ILLEGAL.
