Closest Chinese Food To Hawaii

We have lived in Oregon for almost 13 years now and have been on the search for food that reminds us of home in all of the Asian flavors and this place is the closest. We eat here at least 2 - 3 times a month.

People need to understand that the Chinese culture is not the same as the American culture. What you may think is rude is normal for their culture, so before you post something rude think twice about both sides of the cultural barrier (yes, I am part Chinese).

I strongly suggest the salt and pepper squid, the salt and pepper tofu, the green beans with beef and black bean sauce, the chow fun noodles, and quite a few other dishes that I can't recall right now.

Just be forewarned that they have a bar with Karaoke and if you don't mind the noise the food is worth the trip.

Absolutely BEST Chinese Experience

My husband and I went here on a whim the other night. I was very pleasantly surprised by everything about this place. We were greeted right away and we asked to see the menu first. The host/greeter gave us time to look it over. The prices looked reasonable, so we asked for a table. We were immediately given glasses of water and a hot teapot. The server was not at all pushy when we asked for more time. We decided on the family dinner option because it had a little bit of everything: soup, BBQ pork, egg rolls, fried shrimp, pork fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, and choice of one other entree. We picked General Tzo's chicken (one of my faves). The soup came out immediately and I had only gotten half through that when we were brought 3 different appetizers. The server noted that it was our first time here and explained that all the appetizers are made fresh every day (not pre-prepared like another review here suggests). The egg rolls were so good! The BBQ pork was moist. The fried shrimp was delicious. When the entrees came out our eyes were so big! I asked the server if anyone actually finishes all this food. Without hesitation she laughed and said, ""no."" We were very delighted by the flavor of the sweet and sour sauce, and the general's chicken was a little sweet and medium spice (just as I like it!). We asked for boxes, and the server took our plates and boxed it up for us. We left with almost as much food as we ate all for just over $25 combined for the two of us!\t\n\t\nWe will definitely be back. I hope you too experience the same as we did.

This place left a bad tast in our mouths

After finding our favorite (Canyon Pearl) Chinese restaurant out of business we tried this place. It was beyond dissappointing! The Hot and Sour Soup was very sweet; the pot-stickers were clearly commercially produced (pretty sure Costco's are better) and the General Tso's Chicken was sweet rather than the least bit spicy. Easily our worst Chinese experience. We won't be going there again and if you enjoy good Chinese/Cantonese food don't go near the place!
