not very nice...

i've been searching for a nice, local campground to take trips in the summer time, and I came across old cedar. I went here for a day trip first. The atmosphere is practically dead, the facilities are none too impressive, and the staff lacked common courtesy. Nothing to do but sit in front of the lake, and try to understand why you actually paid to come in the first place...

Horrible place, with even worse management

I have lived in the area for quite sometime and I must say that Old Cedar campground is OK, until you come across the owners. The owner spoke horribly to my child, (while i was not there, she was with a friend and she was 13 at the time) he told her that she was crazy, told her she must be stupid, and banned her from coming to the campground. STAY AWAY, my daughter didnt break any rules, or do anything wrong, and I threatened to call the police and he said she was on private property. These people are WEIRD, and be careful because a lot of the people that have campers there are drunks, and addicts (oh yes, I've come across quite a few there) Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else like Buena Vista or Jellystone... this "campground" has nothing to offer you but a dirty lake and a very old and poorly maintained rec room.

Family oriented fun

I first went to this campground for Camp Jam In the Pines. The staff was professional and the facilities were clean. The festival pushed the staff to the test and they passed with flying colors. Friendly atmosphere, kid friendly. I am going back tommorrow for this years Camp Jam.
