Nina Akou's Braid and Hair Design

I'm a Loctician myself and every now and then I look for others to service me so that I can get pampered myself. But that won' t happen again after going to Nina Akou's salon. She was not truthful when I inquired about interlocking dreadlocks service. It took her and some little teenage girl over 4 hours to do what it takes me roughly 2 hours to do on my clients!!!! Then when I critiqued her, she talked about me with another staff member in French like I wouldn't know she was talking about me! When I got home I noticed she had left over 6 rows undone and I had to finish my own hair that I paid her for!!!! I'm reporting her to the NC Cosmetic Arts.

I started out with Nina's sister-in-law years ago before Nina. Nina was fine at first but the bigger her clientele became, the worse her service got. I would go to her house and sit all day and night. Instead of having two braiders to get customers in and out, she would have one young girl stay on each person's head which meant you had to sit up to 10 or 11 hours. People are busy and don't have time to take off work and dedicate a whole day to getting micros. They sit in your ear speaking French all day which is very annoying!! Then Nina moved to Arnold Street from her house and it got worse. I wanted cornrows for my daughter which they stated cost $50. I wanted the cornrows slanted to the side and they stated that would be $60. It was the exact same amount of cornrows but just slightly slanted. I stopped going completely after that. There are so many braiders everywhere now that braid your hair faster and treat you better. I refuse to beat out of my money from anyone. I know so many people who stopped going to Nina. She should see that she really fell off and try to figure out why. She's very arrogant so she probably doesn't even realize that her faithful customers are long gone. I don't mind paying for my hair so I don't have to deal with poor customer service!!
